The put in is alongside the road beyond Grey’s Mill, and from here the narrow river winds down the A12 and under the bridge. The river then passes Great Braxted Mill where there is a simple weir (care must be taken not to hit brickwork with paddles or boats!). The next point of intrest is Appleford Measuring Flume, which can you can shoot from either side. A portage is available at Little Braxted Mill, although it can be run with a bump when levels are higher. The lunch stop is at Blue Mill. From here on the river goes through a golf course and then onto Wickham Mill which must be portaged on the left as the drop is very shallow and dangerous. The take out is at the back of the Langford Parish car park above the weir.
