Lake Mead was created by the construction of Hoover Dam between 1931 and 1935. The 110 mile long reservoir has many great places to paddle. The Boulder Basin can get busy during the summer months especially on weekends but other parts of the lake are relatively uncrowded as is the entire lake during the winter.

The closest part of the lake is only 25 miles from Las Vegas!

There are numerous islands with beaches to explore and camp on. There are coves, many with beaches, to explore and camp at. Bonelli Bay is a great place to paddle with few people around the area.

South Cove gives you access to Iceberg Canyon. Pearce Ferry is closed due to low water.

Be sure to check the wind forecast as the lake can get very rough in strong winds.
