Luck

Much is attributed to luck. Making a roll in a hole, coming out from a swim down a Grade 3 without any knocks or scrapes, recovering kit that was washed downstream in said swim, and making that "tiny eddy half way down a grade 4 drop".

Luck, or chance, has very little to do with this however (except that eddys, those are just silly! -- User:DevAnubis ). And uck should never be relied on to replace Skill and Technique.
