Google Earth Conversion
Hi George,
I started a Google Earth-based collection of whitewater put-in's and take-out's that I'd love to add to the wikipaddle project (glad to see that I don't have to set up my own platform to get this idea out). You can see an early version of it here: http://www.soulboater.com/de/news/reports/article/338/
I've at least doubled the size (I quit counting how many rivers) and I've been working on cleaning up the kml files to get them ready to at least upload as kmz files to the wiki. Is there any easy way to convert the info there into the Google Map code that you have here? I do want to fit your format as best I can...
Drop me a line by email (I think you got it when I logged in, right), or skype me at iandhbrown.

Wikipaddle License
If having a vote is impractical, you can just change the license the same way one sets it in the first place. If you need anything more please contact me or if it's anything urgent at wikipedia. Thanks, Monkeyblue 06:01, 26 May 2007 (MST)
- Now I have some time im going to look at doing this over the week end. --George Drummond
protection for templates
Hi George,
I think that I have most of the templates transferred to the Spanish edition. However I don't think I can figure out how to put them under protection on the Spanish side. I may have passed the expiration time on the link that you sent me to confirm my Sysop registration. Sorry to bother you but if you can just point me in the right direction, I would appreciated it. - Tom
Google maps
Hi George,
We have surely been missing the Google maps feature of Wikipaddle. When my son, Andrew, (sort of) complained or should I say "reported" how maps are slow to show themselves after they have been set up, then I suppose you took the map feature down to investigate the problem. But since then we have been missing even the map feature we had, which still worked pretty well.
If you are able to bring it back in some form (even though perhaps not perfect), it would be much appreciated (at least by me). Thanks,

Thanks for bringing back the maps!
They bring a lot of color and information to the pages. Seems like they work better than ever.
Hope you are having a good new year. Check out the video of the Alseseca Race!

Spanish version
Hi George,
Do you have any idea why the Spanish version is not working? My Mexican friends don't read English. --Tommcewan 21:41, 7 March 2009 (PST)
Open Street Map
Hi George,
I've been working on a few guides for a while and was wondering if this place is still actively under development before I continue.
I'm also working on a mapping project over at OpenStreetMap. Any chance we could get some collaboration going? I'm sure it would be easy to integrate their maps into our guides and would therefore help with their project simultaneously while working on guides here? I'de be happy to give it a go if given the ability to do so? I'm not sure how your google maps extension to MediaWiki works, but there are similar implementations for OSM on their Wiki which I'm sure I could gain access to if asked.
Cheers
Martin
