Wikipaddle:How to use this site

Jump to: navigation, search

Welcome to Wikipaddle! Wikipaddle is a collaborative project similar to Wikipedia, but focused on Paddle Sports (primarily Open Canoeing and Kayaking).

A "Wiki" is a type of website that allows anyone anywhere to add to or edit the content of that site, through collaborative authoring. It means that information can constantly be updated, improved and added to. For more information about Wiki's, you may want to read through Wikipedia's Introduction Page

This page is here to help you explore Wikipaddle, find what you are looking for, and hopefully involve you in our authoring process:

  • Look Up a River - Wikipaddle has a Search feature which allows you to look for key words. You can also browse for rivers in our area from the Main Page
  • Navigation - We have a series of portals separating the site into four main sections:
    • Places, where you can search through our repository of river guides.
    • Paddling Equipment, where we intend offer manufacturer's profiles and information on specific types of equipment.
    • Technical, where we aim to compile instructional guides on different paddling techniques.
    • Books, where we offer our recommendations for "must read" paddling books.
  • Editing Guides - We have a set of guides prepared to help you edit pages and create new articles, helping to contribute further to the Wikipaddle community. Help:Starting a new page
